FAQ
About Scheduling
Q: How do I reschedule my appointment?
A: Rescheduling is different depending on your state, and your appointment type (in-lab or concierge).
If you’ve booked an in-lab appointment, you can contact BioReference Labs to reschedule. In-lab appointments allow walk-ins, so you don’t need to book another visit unless you choose to do so.
If you’re in New York State and have booked a concierge appointment, please reply to the email that reached out to schedule your initial appointment.
If you’re outside of New York State and have booked a concierge appointment, please contact Getlabs directly to reschedule.
Q: Do I need to schedule an in-lab appointment?
A: No. BioReference Labs accepts walk-ins during normal business hours, usually with a minimal wait. Be sure to bring your photo ID and use the code CM645 when you arrive.
Q: Does VerifiedMD accept insurance?
A: VerifiedMD does not submit claims or provide paperwork for insurance purposes at this time.
Q: Are my VerifiedMD screenings covered by my FSA or HSA?
A: No, we are not accepting FSA or HSA payment methods or providing itemized receipts at this time.
Q: How soon can I schedule a concierge appointment?
A: If you are located in New York State, then you will receive an email from our BioReference team to schedule after you have submitted your patient intake form. Please be sure to check your junk inbox if you do not receive an email.
If you are outside of New York State, then you will receive a text and email from our Getlabs phlebotomy team to schedule after you have completed your patient intake form, which will be emailed with your order confirmation.
If you would like to get tested quickly, BioReference accepts walk-ins at any location without an appointment – wait times are generally very short. Be sure to bring your photo ID and use the code CM645 when you arrive.
Q: Where do I send information about my symptoms?
A: If you are experiencing symptoms, we recommend you seek screening and treatment through your primary care provider.
Q: Can I change my appointment type (concierge or in-lab) after I make a purchase?
A: No, once we receive your payment you cannot change the type of appointment you selected.

About The Badge
Q: When will I get my shareable VerifiedMD badge?
A: If all your results come back within normal limits, you will be notified that your badge is ready to share from your account dashboard.
Generally, results come back after 3-5 business days. We’ll notify you when your results are ready.
Q: How long is my badge valid?
A: Your badge will remain active for one year from the date of your test. However, we recommend testing more frequently (on a quarterly basis).
Q: Can other people use or share my badge after I’ve sent it to them?
A: When you choose to share your badge, you will be issued a unique URL that will expire 12 hours after being shared. The person you share it with cannot share that link with anyone else.
Q: Can I access or look at other user’s badges?
A: No, you can only see a user’s VerifiedMD Badge if they send it to you directly via unique URL. That unique link is not shareable.
Q: If someone sends me a VerifiedMD Badge, what does that mean?
A: A VerifiedMD Badge means that the person who sent it to you has tested within normal limits for six commonly transmitted STDs (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C). All VerifiedMD tests are administered by phlebotomists and all samples screened by a nationally trusted laboratory, BioReference.
